The Worlds Most Recorded Drummer, the legendary Bernard Purdie recently visited TELEFUNKEN Soundstage in South Windsor, CT to participate in a tribute concert in his honor.
Bernard “Pretty” Purdie has recorded with some of the greatest artists in recent history including James Brown, Aretha Franklin, Herbie Hancock, Dizzy Gillespi, Wilson Picket, Vulfpeck and Steely Dan to name a few. His style is so unique and often imitated, that he even has a groove named after him: “The Purdie Shuffle”.
