On Friday October 6th, 2012, during the weekend of the Audio Engineering Society convention, Nicki Bluhm & The Gramblers performed to a sold-out crowd at The Independent Music Hall in San Francisco, CA. Nicki Bluhm previously released an acclaimed solo record before relaunching her country soul career with the Gramblers. This show marked the five-year wedding anniversary of band members Nicki & Tim Bluhm, with band members dressed up in full wedding attire.
The performance was recorded in multitrack format by San Francisco bay-area producer and engineer David Simon-Baker (Jack Johnson / ALO), and co-engineered by the band’s front-of-house engineer Michael Wilson. Covering nearly every single channel of the stage were microphones provided by TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik, including the M80 Dynamic on vocals and snare drum, the M81 Universal Dynamic on guitar amps, the M82 on kick drum, as well as the ELA M 260 small diaphragm tube microphones on hi-hat and drum overheads. Pre amps manufactured by API, Neve, Grace and Midas were all used in the on-location recording process. The multi-track audio files of the original song “Go Go Go” from this live recording are now available for download.
All the files are clearly labeled in the same format with the source listed first (LEAD VOX, ACOUSTIC, PIANO), followed by the microphone used (C12, AR-51, etc), and then the make and model of pre amplifier (BAE 1073, Manley, Neve, API, etc.).
All audio files are presented in .WAV format and were recorded at 24bit / 44.1KHz sample rate. They can be downloaded and imported into your Digital Audio Workstation of choice by downloading and unzipping the file.
