10th Year Anniversary Hike to the Mic at Talcott Mountain State Park

THE FRIENDS OF HEUBLEIN TOWER, INC is pleased to announce the dates and stellar roster for the 10th annual HIKE TO THE MIC – Music and Arts Happening at the Heublein Tower, Talcott Mountain State Park – September 14 & 15 from 10 am to 6:30 pm both days.

This donation suggested event will reward those who journey the trails through Talcott Mountain State Park to the Heublein Tower with great musical entertainment, fantastic food and the “royal view” from one of Connecticut’s premier destinations.

The performers for HIKE TO THE MIC X are Jelly, Julai and the Serotones, The New Mosaic, POSSM, Jay Collins and the Northern Resistance, Nikita, Brandon Serafino and Friends, 22 Brides- featuring Carrie and Libby Johnson, The KC Sisters,  Headcase, Jake Kulak and the Modern Vandals, and Chris Casey will curate Sunday morning’s jazz segment.

Audio for Hike to the Mic X will once again be powered by TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik!!

Local Connecticut artists, Corey Pane and Nate Hansen will also be live painting throughout the event.

Food vendors include Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Harry’s Bishop Corner Pizzeria and Beau’s Burger Shack who will be grilling burgers and dogs in the Eisenhower Pavilion. New England Coffee Guy will be there with their fabulous brews, including a special Hike to the Mic cold brew can.

A fantastic raffle is also planned.  All proceeds from the Hike to the Mic X will benefit the restoration and enhancement of the iconic and treasured Heublein Tower.

The Heublein Tower in Talcott Mountain State Park is unquestionably one of the most unique settings in New England for a concert event and will once again provide the perfect back drop for the tenth annual Hike to the Mic on September 14 & 15, 2024.

The Friends of Heublein Tower, Inc is a non-profit preservation society, established in 1984, for the purpose of restoring for public use the state-owned Heublein Tower landmark to its original and authentic 1914 splendor.  By providing time, talent and financial assistance, the Friends of Heublein Tower supplement the state of Connecticut’s efforts in restoring, improving and interpreting the Heublein Tower and its surrounding grounds. The restored Tower serves as a museum and a place of learning, gathering and exploration for the educational and social benefit of those who visit.

The LIVE FROM THE LAB live music video series is recorded and filmed at TELEFUNKEN Elektroakustik’s facility in South Windsor, CT. Each session is tracked live exclusively with TELEFUNKEN microphones and features unique performances from a variety of local, regional, national, and international artists and ensembles.

The multitrack audio files from these sessions are available for free download via clickable links below the individual performance videos. All audio files are presented in .WAV format and were recorded at 24bit / 48KHz sample rate. They are clearly labeled in the same format with the source listed first (LEAD VOX, ACOUSTIC, PIANO), followed by the microphone used (C12, AR-51, etc) and can be downloaded and imported into your Digital Audio Workstation of choice.
